Noshaq Expedition

Available

Noshaq is the highest mountain in Afghanistan and one of the most prominent peaks in the Hindu Kush. Rising to 7,492 meters (24,580 feet), it is the second-highest peak in the Hindu Kush after Tirich Mir. It sits on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, with its western and northern slopes in Afghanistan and its southern and eastern slopes in Pakistan. It is also recognized as the westernmost mountain on Earth above 7,000 meters. For climbers, Noshaq is considered a serious high-altitude expedition mountain rather than a technical alpine climb. The standard route usually follows the West Ridge via the Qazideh Glacier from Afghanistan’s remote Wakhan Corridor. The ascent involves glacier travel, steep snow slopes, exposure to altitude, extreme weather, and long logistical approaches through isolated terrain. Even the “easiest” route demands strong mountaineering experience, acclimatization, and expedition planning.
